Privacy Policy

What We Collect

When you use the estimator: We collect the street address you enter. This address is sent to Google's Solar API to measure your roof via satellite imagery. We store the address, roof measurements, and cost estimate in our database so you can retrieve your results later.

When you request a detailed report: If you optionally provide your name, email, phone number, and project timeline, we collect that information to connect you with vetted local roofing professionals. This step is entirely optional — you get a full estimate without providing any personal information.

How We Use Your Data

• Address & roof data: Used exclusively to generate your cost estimate. We do not sell address data.
• Contact info: If you opt in, your name, email, and phone are shared with roofing professionals who may contact you about your project. We do not share your contact information with anyone else.
• Analytics: We use PostHog to understand how people use the tool (pages visited, buttons clicked) so we can improve it. Analytics data is aggregated and does not include your address or contact details.

Third-Party Services

• Google Solar API: Receives your address coordinates to provide satellite roof measurements. Google Privacy Policy

Data Retention

Estimates are retained indefinitely for aggregate analysis (average costs by region, material popularity). Contact information provided for detailed reports is retained for up to 12 months, then deleted. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us.

Cookies

We use a single analytics cookie (PostHog) to understand usage patterns. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers. You can disable cookies in your browser settings without affecting the estimator's functionality.

Your Rights

You can:

• Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of analytics tracking

Children's Privacy

RoofAI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the tool after changes constitutes acceptance.
